I didn’t want to be one of those high maintenance moms who get suckered into buying every gimmicky baby product on the market. Once in a while though, I will discover a product that is worth its weight in gold. Here are 3 of my favorite baby and toddler products that I love and think are totally worth getting.
You know when your little one gets a cold and her nose becomes red, crusty and raw? These Boogie Wipes are made with natural saline so it won’t sting when you wipe her nose. Best of all, they are hypoallergenic and free of alcohol, paragons, and phthalates. They come in resealable packs so I throw one in the diaper bag and leave a pack at home. My younger son recently got a bacterial eye infection and he had lots of sticky discharge stuck onto his eyelashes. This wipe was effective in removing the gunk without stinging his eyes.
Aqueduck faucet extender is an absolute necessity when your little one is too short to wash his hands (even with a step stool), but insists on doing everything “by myself!” They are easy to clean (I throw them in the top rack of the dishwasher) and come with a lifetime guarantee. I adore the little duck design and like the fact that it contains no BPA, PVC, or phthalates. There are other faucet extenders on the market, but I like to support this company because it was started by a mom of three boys in the San Francisco Bay Area.
As a first-time parent I was incredibly nervous about cutting little baby nails. I found the Piyo Piyo nail scissors to be very easy and comfortable to use. The ends of the scissors are rounded and the blades are curved slightly upward at the end, which makes it less likely that you will accidentally cut the skin. You don’t have to squeeze very hard to cut the nails (it’s like cutting through paper) and it is easy to maneuver and see because the blades of the scissors are so small. Give it a try!
What are your favorite baby/toddler products? I am always looking for new recommendations.
